The People’s Bible has now completed its tour of Great Britain.

The public have reproduced an entire King James Bible (and more to spare!) in their own handwriting.  More than 43,000 verses were written in total.

The two vans we had touring the England, Wales and Scotland covered 17,428 miles between them.

The town of Hamilton in Scotland saw the most verses written in one day – 680.

Famous faces who wrote a pair of verses included: The Prince of Wales; the Prime Minister, David Cameron; the Archbishop of Canterbury; Timothy West; Aled Jones and Gyles Brandreth.

We would not have achieved such a remarkable feat without the help of all the volunteers and those people who wrote verses on the day. Thank you from us; we hope you enjoyed the experience.

You can view all the handwritten verses in our online gallery.
